Gordon has just finished directing a short comedy sketch featuring the singer Brian Harvey from the boy band East 17. This film has been made in support of Cancer Research and can be watched at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uL7NkOrkii0

 

 

Gordon returned from Montreal in late September 2016 acting in a feature film called Venus directed by Eisha Majara. The film has premiered in Canada and now has a theatrical release there. It has been shown at various film festivals in the US (LA and New York) and Berlin receiving very good reviews and winning various awards including Best Feature Film at the Milan Film Festival. Venus premiered in England on the 29th of June in Manchester, Birmingham and London at the BFI Southbank as part of the London Indian Film Festival where it closed the festival on the gala night.

 

Gordon also appears in the film London Unplugged which premiers at the East  End Film Festival on the 28th of April 2018.

 

In late August 2019 Gordon begins rehearsals for the stage version of the film 'My Beautiful Laundrette' directed by Nikolai Foster for the Curve Theatre in Leicester. Gordon played Omar the co-lead with Daniel Day-Lewis, in the original film directed by Stephen Frears 33 years ago. This time round, on stage, he plays Omar's father, Papa. The show once finished it's run in Leicester (5th October) will tour at the following venues, Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham, Leeds Playhouse, Belgrade Theatre, Coventry and Birmingham Rep. As well as running One Step Beyond Films, Gordon is working with Nick Mottershead and have set up  2STEP MEDIA . A production company that makes short films for companies to promote their services on their websites as well as on the internet such as on YouTube.

Gordon filmed and took photographs of the legendary ska trombone player Rico Rodriguez for Keith Finch and JA-13 Cooperative. The film was shot to promote Rico's album Wareika Vibes and can be found on the Our Films page. A new album, Order Of Distinction, that Keith Finch has produced and features yet to be released tracks by Rico is coming soon using stills that Gordon shot.
